I have been blessed to be a licensed guide and outfitter in Idaho for over 30 years. My guiding career has taken me to Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Florida, Belize and Crooked Island Bahamas. I very much enjoy teaching the art of casting. I like to emphasize proper casting and often begin a day of guiding by stopping at a local grassy field and brush up your cast. The last 12 years I have dedicated myself to learning the McCall area lakes and reservoirs. My attraction to this area is the beauty of the country and the absence of fishing pressure. I have heard it said that God does not subtract from our lives time spent fishing…If that is true I shall live to be very, very, very old…
Mike is a retired wildlife biologist and has lived in McCall for the past 22 years. He grew up in western Oregon and attended Oregon State university where he received his Bachelors and masters degree in wildlife management. In 1970 Mike accepted a position with Idaho Department of Fish and Game. During his 26 year tenure with the department he worked as a conservation officer, research biologist and regional wildlife manager. Since retirement Mike has worked for Idaho helicopters and Hawkins power Aviation in their animal capture program. Mike has been an avid outdoorsman since his youth. Flyfish McCall has been blessed by Mikes enthusiasm for high lake Fly fishing.
Roy enjoys guiding flyfishers from driftboats on the middle fork of the Salmon for many years and recently purchased Rapid River Outfitters, which is a Riggins Idaho based driftboat steelhead fishing business. Fly Fish McCall is blessed to have Roy join us in the summer. Roy has an extensive knowledge of the history, geology and fishery of our local area.
Kerry has been guiding since fish have had fins. Guiding people fishing has been Kerrys passion for over 35 years. While he is famous as a steelhead and salmon guide, Kerry has joined us on the mountain for summertime trout fishing for the last two seasons and has taken to it like a fish to water. Kerry is very interesting to spend the day with and is one of my favorite people on the planet.
